Lizandra Vega

Lizandra Vega's life story is a testament to the premise of her book, The Image of Success: Make a Great Impression and Land the Job You Want (AMACOM Books). She firmly believes that attention to the ABC’s — Appearance, Behavior, and Communication —is integral to being a consummate professional. Lizandra grew up in the Bronx, the only child of first-generation parents who moved from Puerto Rico. She attended Wesleyan University and advanced in the business world by means of hard work, talent, and giving the utmost attention to presenting a polished and professional image.

After graduating college in the early 1990s, Lizandra was accepted as a company member of the Spanish Repertory Theatre in New York City. She later worked for several years at a major recruitment firm, where she became top producer representing administrative talent. In 2003, she co-founded Perennial Resources International (PRI), a full-service, boutique-staffing firm based in Manhattan. As Managing Partner, Lizandra leads PRI’s Luxury & Lifestyle Division; servicing clients in the fashion, beauty, jewelry, consumer products, travel, leisure, and hospitality sectors. She has built the business around an elite roster of clients, and has successfully coached thousands of job seekers on all facets of career development; from style and appearance, etiquette and business protocol, to verbal and nonverbal communication skills.

Lizandra’s interest in advising job seekers on wardrobe and style presentation in the workplace led her to complete the Fashion Institute of Technology’s (FIT) Image Consulting Certification Program. She is a Certified Image Consultant and a past board member of the Association of Image Consultants International New York/Tri-State Chapter.

Since the launch of her first published work, The Image of Success, Lizandra has made a variety of television appearances as a guest expert on, Fox 5’s ‘Good Day New York’ and ‘Good Day Street Talk,’ Univision’s ‘Noticias Al Despertar’ and Telemundo’s ‘El Informador.’ She has also been featured in dozens of print, radio, and online media outlets; including PEOPLE StyleWatch, Latina Magazine, and Latina Style Magazine, More.com, CareerBuilder.com, SmartMoney.com, BusinessWeek.com and MSNBC.com. She writes The Image of Success Blog: Lizandra Vega’s Tips & Trends to All Things Career, and has been an active guest blogger on numerous widely read sites.
